Why Prom Dresses?

During the experience of purchasing a Prom Dress for my own daughter I decided that I wanted to help others avoid the mistakes I made and offer a more magical experience of shopping for your Prom Dress in Chester, we can’t wait to see you and look forward to helping you find your Dream Dress for a Magical Prom!

Top tips for shopping for a Prom Dress:

👗 Start looking early - Prom Dresses for the new season start coming into stock in October - yes I know I was the one shopping in April thinking I had loads of time for a July Prom how wrong I was!

👗 Most of our dresses range between £200 & £600 so planning early can help with the budget, our average dress price is around £350

👗 Many of the online websites that sell Prom Dresses look like they are from the UK until you try and return them and can find they are based in China and it’s impossible to return them (Guess how I know?!) A £200 dress seems great until it doesn’t fit and you have to buy twice 

👗 Be open to trying different sizes, styles and colours, dresses can look different on hangers than they do on humans - we bought a completely different prom dress from the original idea my daughter started with of a teal satin backless style, we actually ended up with black sparkly glitter with a corset back!

👗 Styles are limited and we currently sell off the rail most of our dresses range between a Size 6 and Size 14, if you see something you love don’t wait! We don’t want any sad faces when the dress you loved has found its new home with someone else 

👗 Many dresses will require altering in length by a seamstress depending on the shoe style that you choose to wear with your dress, buying early gives you time to organise this with a seamstress. Remember there are lots of summer weddings so alteration services are likely to be busy

👗 Come to your appointment without make up, jewellery or tanning products so we can keep the dresses in tip top condition 

👗 Think about the underwear you wear to your fitting and what you will want to wear to your prom so that you can get a good idea of what your dress will look like. Wearing something you are comfortable in as you will be changing in and out of dresses is a great idea. Don’t worry about bringing shoes, it’s just another thing to worry about and they can change depending on the style and colour that you choose 

👗 A Parent or Guardian will need to accompany you to your appointment, please ensure they they are available to come with you

👗 Appointments usually take about 1 to  1.5 hours allowing time to try on different styles, if you can arrive 5 minutes before that would be great as we usually have appointments throughout the day

👗 It’s helpful to bring a drink with you as you can get warm when trying on, please keep this to water 

👗 We understand that you may want to share your experience of buying a dress and we want to provide you with a magical experience. 

We have room for 2 people only to come along and join in with the experience of the person trying on the Prom Dress, this includes any other children and I’m afraid we don’t have room for any pushchairs. 

This is so that you all enjoy the experience and that you aren’t squashed! We find appointments work best 1-2-1, if there are too many people involved in the decision making process young people can often get overwhelmed, this is often the first time that they see themselves wearing this style of clothing.
We want to make each of them feel amazing in what they are wearing both at the appointment and at their Prom.
